Learn how to give concrete driveways, pathways, and architectural features a new look with concrete color stain. This series of videos teaches you how to properly mix and apply color stain in order for you to achieve a beautifully finished product without any headaches. You’ll be able to replicate stamped concrete with antiquing, fixed acid stain that has failed, tint slate or other porous surfaces, faux finishing, and much more all with complete control.

Preparation – Part 1/6
Before beginning any project with color stain, prepare the concrete surface by thoroughly cleaning the area with a power wash. In this video, you will also learn how to remove oil stain and other difficult residue with ease. (1:18) -
Mixing – Part 2/6
In this clip, you will learn how to properly mix the Newlook product in order to ensure an even color coat across the entire concrete surface. You will also discover what tools you will need in order to successfully complete the staining project from start to finish. (4:27) -
Application – Part 3/6
For larger jobs of about 350 square feet, the solid color full size kit is best. During this section you will receive tips on how to provide an even application and uniform look to your concrete surface. Less is better when applying each coat, and remember to rebroom the surface as it dries. (6:25) -
Solid Color Small Size Kit – Part 4/6
For smaller jobs around 75 square feet, the solid color small size kit is ideal. This brief clip demonstrates mixing and applying the color stain, which is very similar to the full size kit, but for smaller applications. (3:21) -
Clear 32 – Part 5/6
Clear 32 provides a clear finish that has multiple applications. It is not a "sealer", but can be used with abrasive grit on stained or unstained concrete for a matte, clear look and breathable finish. It can also be used instead of the Solid Color Stain to prime raw, virgin concrete surfaces for application of the Translucent Color Enhancer. Color Enhancer Kit – Part 6/6
Once you’ve mastered the single coat technique, you can experiment with creating antiqued looks and faux finishes. This section reviews mixing instructions as well as the tools you’ll need to apply a color enhancer in order to create different looks and finishes. Make sure to practice each technique before applying it to a large surface. (8:47)
